DraftKings sportsbook pubic bets

And then there were four. Just four teams left in the hunt for the 2020 Super Bowl crown, it’s Conference Championship Sunday in the NFL.

The Tennessee Titans travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs in the AFC Championship while the Green Bay Packers are on the road in San Francisco to take on the 49ers. It is expected to be a very cold day for the AFC Championship in Kansas City, but quite the opposite for the NFC Championship in the warm climate of the Bay Area in California. Feels much better than it will at NJ Sportsbooks, but we can still bet on the games!

DraftKings Sportsbook has provided us with information all season long on who the public is on, and this week is no different. Let’s take a glance at who the betting public likes for Championship Weekend in the NFL, courtesy of DraftKings.

No Love for the Underdog in the AFC Championship

The betting public does not believe that Mike Vrabel, Derrick Henry, and the Tennessee Titans can make it three road victories in a row, as they have the Chiefs winning the AFC Championship on Sunday.

DraftKings reports that 73% of the money wagered on the AFC Championship in terms of the spread (Kansas City Chiefs -7.5) is coming on on the favorite. 7.5 points is a lot, but after the Chiefs scored 51 points in three quarters last week, it seems points are not the problem for the Chiefs. That also explains the total, as it is currently set at 52.5, but a massive 77% of the money is bet on the over. With the Chiefs ability to score points in a hurry, and the Titans ability to run the football with Derrick Henry, it is not a surprise to see the public betting on over 52.5. The moneylines bring in a close split of 55-45 on the handle, also favoring Kansas City.

Bettors Heavily Backing the 49ers

In the NFC Championship on Sunday, the betting public is all over the San Francisco 49ers (-7.5) to cover by more than a touchdown against the visiting Green Bay Packers. The Packers have one of the greats in Aaron Rodgers, but have been outplayed in a lot of games this season. Still, they are 14-3 entering the NFC Championship.

While not as large as the AFC Championship’s betting handle, there is still 68% of the money on the favorite, the 49ers, on Sunday. That means only 32% of the dollars wagered on DraftKings Sportsbook believes the Packers with 7.5 points. As for the total, bettors also like the over in this game…but it is a very low 45-point over/under. 60% of the money is on the over, which was the expectation. Expect the 49ers to run the ball at will against the Packers, and for Green Bay to have a chance they will need a tremendous game from future Hall-of-Famer Aaron Rodgers. 72% of the money on the moneylines believe the 49ers will get the win here, despite a -345 price tag.
