The Associated Press released their first Top 25 rankings for the upcoming College Football season. As always on DraftKings Sportsbook, you can bet on who you think will win the National Championship.
Let’s compare the odds between the AP Top 25, and DraftKings’ current Top 25 odds to win the National Championship.
The Big Two
The big two in Division I football right now is undoubtedly Clemson and Alabama. Both DraftKings Sportsbook and the Associated Press agree on this, with DraftKings Sportsbook having Clemson at +175 and Alabama at +250.
Both teams return Heisman-hopeful quarterbacks in Trevor Lawrence and Tua Tagavailoa, and a plethora of surrounding talent. The top two WR corps in the country belong to these two teams, and it is quite likely we see the two of them in the National Championship game yet again for the fifth straight season.
The Top 10
Aside from Alabama and Clemson, both the AP and DraftKings Sportsbook have a similar top 10.
Associated Press Ranking – DraftKings Sportsbook Ranking
3. Georgia – Georgia
4. Oklahoma – Michigan
5. Ohio State – Ohio State
6. LSU – Oklahoma
7. Michigan – Florida
8. Florida – LSU
9. Notre Dame – Auburn
10. Texas – Notre Dame
Notably, the biggest differential is Michigan in the Top 10. DraftKings Sportsbook has them at +1400 to win the National Championship, 4th on the list. The Associated Press has them at #7. In addition, Texas does not make DraftKings Sportsbook’s top 10, but sits at #10 according to the AP.
Both the AP and DraftKings Sportsbook have nine of 10 teams in both of their respective Top 10’s: Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, Ohio State, LSU, Michigan, Florida, Notre Dame. The one differentiator is Texas and Auburn, but DraftKings has Texas at #11.
If you were to bet at DraftKings Sportsbook based on the best values compared to the AP Top 25 poll, your top bets would be:
Texas A&M (+10000), +8 differential on DraftKings Sportsbook
Wisconsin (+10000), +3 differential on DraftKings Sportsbook
Oklahoma (+1600), at +2 differential on DraftKings Sportsbook
LSU (+4000), at +2 differential on DraftKings Sportsbook
Auburn comes in at #16 in the Associated Press’ poll, but DraftKings Sportsbook has them as #9 with +5000 odds.
DraftKings Sportsbook has Mississippi State at +8000 to win the National Championship, the 16th-best odds. Meanwhile, they are not ranked in the Top 25 by the AP.
The AP has Iowa at #20, but DraftKings Sportsbook does not have them listed as a team with the Top 25 in terms of odds to win the National Championship.
The AP has Iowa State at #21, but DraftKings Sportsbook does not have them listed as a team with the Top 25 in terms of odds to win the National Championship.
DraftKings Sportsbook has Florida State at #25 and USC at #21, but neither rebuilding powerhouse made the AP’s Top 25.
The AP has Syracuse at #22, but DraftKings Sportsbook does not have them listed as a team with the Top 25 in terms of odds to win the National Championship.
