Tiger Woods Odds To Win The Masters

FanDuel Sportsbook currently has Tigers with the fourth-highest betting odds to win the Masters at +1500 trailing only Rory McIlroy +750, Dustin Johnson +1000, and Justin Rose +1300.

Will Tiger truly challenge Rory? McIlroy has played quite well as of late earning his first win of the tour season at THE PLAYERS Championship. Finishing with a -16 final round elevated McIlroy to the top position in the points standings.

We can only hope to get a Tiger vs. Rory pairing on Sunday for the Masters. That ratings for CBS would be enormous and the potential live betting at NJ sportsbooks could rival that of Super Bowl Sunday.

History Of The Green Jacket At The Masters

Each member of Augusta National Golf Club receives a green “jacket” or sport coat with the club’s logo on the left chest area. The idea of the green jacket originated with Augusta National co-founder Clifford Roberts. Many believe it is because he wanted patrons visiting during the tournament to be able to readily identify members. Since 1949, the winner of the Masters Tournament has received a green jacket, although surprisingly he does not receive a membership. It is also tradition for the previous year’s winner to present the green jacket to the current winner.

Augusta National has roughly 300 members. Membership is strictly by invitation, there is no application process. Membership is believed to cost between $10K and $30K, with annual dues under $15K per year.

One additional note for Masters history buffs to take note of before we go over some Masters betting trends. We can see how the game of golf has evolved over the years by simply seeing the changes in the length of the course at Augusta National.
