Woods may be the top betting option for the event, there are many other highly formidable golfers that could easily win the major.
The FanDuel Sportsbook currently has Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy listed just behind Woods at +950 each. Meanwhile, Brooks Koepka is at +1200, and Justin Thomas is at +1300. Keep in mind, Koepka had won the event by two strokes over Woods last year and Thomas had taken first place the year prior by the same margin of victory.
Meanwhile, McIlroy has shown the ability to put together a strong four rounds of golf as he has had a strong showing in the tour up to this point as he’s third in overall points in the standings and earned his first win of the tour at THE PLAYERS Championship after finishing with -16.
Johnson has also played well currently in fifth place in the PGA Tour standings that includes winning the World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship while finishing tied for second at the Masters and has six top 10 finishes.
Will Tiger Woods Win The 2019 PGA Championship
Although there are several other highly formidable golfers that will be in this event, Woods is carrying all the momentum heading into it.
He is coming off his best performances at a major in quite some time. Woods looks healthy and comfortable with his game at this juncture. There will be plenty of jocking for positioning on the leaderboard throughout the event, but it may just come down to the usual suspects in the final round.
Ultimately, this sets up what should be another intriguing PGA Championship with many of the game’s best looking to come away with the win at Bethpage Black Course next weekend.
