NFL Public Bets

If you are betting on NJ Sportsbook Apps, you realize the importance of public betting trends. Whether it’s a group of friends, sharp bettors, or everyone it is all information that bettors want.

For Week 15, William Hill Sports Book provides us with that information to help in our betting research.

The key is to find or isolate certain NFL public bets that could be based on “recency bias” or potential trap games for sports bettors. That is how to focus on winning long term in betting.

To be clear, simply fading the public is not a magic formula. Monitoring NFL public bets or consensus picks should part of your overall strategy, not the only reason for backing a team.

Here’s a look at the NFL Week 15 Public Betting Odds and Trends on William Hill Sports Book.

Notable Games with Spread Consensus (Handle)

Game Spread % Spread Money Wagered
Seahawks vs. Panthers Seahawks -6.5 97% Seahawks
Rams vs. Cowboys Rams -1.5 92% Rams
Jaguars vs. Raiders Raiders -6.5 92% Raiders
Broncos vs. Chiefs Broncos +9.5 91% Broncos

Let’s look at some notable teams who have the majority of the betting handle.

Only one underdog makes this list as a team taking a large number of the betting handle, and that’s the Broncos at +9.5. The rest of the plays taking 90% or more of the money wagered are favorites, as you can see above.

The Broncos are getting a ton of points after a big win against the Texans last week, recency bias is talking here, for sure. Drew Lock has bettors on Denver +9.5.

Seattle Seahawks, 97% of the Money

Seattle is receiving the most money of any NFL team this week on William Hill Sports Books, with a massive 97% of the money on them to cover 6.5 against the Panthers.

Carolina just fired their head coach, the Seahawks have an MVP candidate in Russell Wilson, and Carolina cannot stop turning the ball over. This is a dangerous spread for William Hill, with just 3% of the money on the Panthers.

We know who the book is rooting for this week!

Los Angeles Rams, 92% of the Money

The Rams are tied with the Raiders for the second-most money on a team this week, as they currently have 92% of the money bet with just 8% on the Cowboys. This is a 1.5-point spread and many are favoring the Rams to win, which explains the massive amount of money on them at just the 1.5 points.

The Cowboys have massively struggled since the first few weeks of the season, but are still in the NFC East hunt as the Eagles refuse to take control of the division as well.

With the Rams getting hot and Todd Gurley receiving more and more touches, is LA back? We’ll see. William Hill certainly wants a Cowboys upset.

Oakland Raiders, 92% of the Money

The LAST game in Oakland for the Raiders. It’s hard to imagine them coming out flat, and that is exactly what the bettors believe as well with 92% of the money on Oakland at -6.5 against the Jaguars.

Jacksonville has struggled this season, with the lone bright spot being workhorse running back Leonard Fournette and young wide out D.J. Chark. Chark will miss this weekend’s game, so the Jags are without one of the top weapons on offense.

This makes for four games with 90% or more of the money on one team, which is a ton of liability for William Hill Sports Book.

Notable Games with Spread Consensus (Bets)

Game Spread % Spread Money Wagered % Spread Bets
Seahawks vs. Panthers Seahawks -6.5 97% Seahawks 96% Seahawks
Rams vs. Cowboys Rams -1.5 92% Rams 89% Rams
Vikings vs. Chargers Vikings -2.5 67% Vikings 88% Vikings
Patriots vs. Bengals Patriots -9.5 75% Patriots 88% Patriots
Jaguars vs. Raiders Raiders -6.5 92% Raiders 81% Raiders

Most of the same teams show up for the most total bets on one team for Week 15, as you can see with the Seahawks, Rams, and Raiders showing as top bet-receivers as well.

The two teams that differ are the Vikings and Patriots. Both teams are receiving more bets than money wagered.

The Vikings are getting 88% of the bets but only 67% of the money. This means heavy money is on the Chargers +2.5.

The Patriots have 75% of the money on them, but 88% of the bets. Some money has come in on the….Bengals? 9.5 is a lot of points.

The Underdogs

There are five underdogs that have the majority of the bets and/or handles on them this week.

Game Spread % Spread Money Wagered % Spread Bets
Broncos vs. Chiefs Broncos +9.5 91% Broncos 67% Broncos
Dolphins vs. Giants Dolphins +3.5 85% Dolphins 70% Dolphins
Texans vs. Titans Titans -3, Texans +3 77% Texans 62% Titans
Falcons vs. 49ers 49ers -10.5, Falcons +10.5 74% Falcons 59% 49ers
Bills vs. Steelers Steelers -2, Bills +2 51% Bills 77% Bills
  • The Broncos have a ton of money on them at +9.5, as mentioned above.
  • Miami at +3.5 is one of the more popular bets this week as an underdog, getting 85% of the money.
  • The Texans have a massive 77% of the money for only 38% of the bets. This is a large disparity, which means HEAVY money on the Texans with only a small amount of total bettors.
  • Heavy money is on the Falcons as well, as bettors do not like the Niners crossing the 10 at -10.5.
